Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari in Santa Claus, Indiana has announced Cheetah Chase, the world’s first launched water coaster. The $7 million ride is also the world’s first full-circuit racing water coaster.

Cheetah Chase is Holiday World’s third water coaster, and will boast two ProSlide rocketBLAST-powered racing slides with a total of more than 1,700 feet of track.

Cheetah Chase will travel at 30 feet per second and will have the tallest RocketBLAST section in the world at 27 feet tall. Each side will feature five RocketBLAST sections – one flat and four uphill.

The coaster has the first-ever head-to-head duelling zone on a water coaster, and riders will get to enjoy a water-powered flat launch.

“Undisputed Water Coaster Capital of the world”

The ride also includes two RallyPOINTS, where rafts will synchronise. On each side, there will be two FlyingSAUCER elements.

According to ProSlide, these will create “a faster and tighter ride with stronger g-forces” and “maximum curving speed and centrifugal force”.

“Cheetah Chase is the perfect thrill ride for families,” said Holiday World President, Matt Eckert. “The three-person rafts allow families to race face-to-face, and the launch is the first of its kind.

“There’s nothing like this out there.”

Cheetah Chase joins award-winning water coasters

Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari’s water coaster Wildebeest was voted the #1 water park attraction by the Golden Ticket Awards. The resort’s Mammoth water coaster was voted #2 by the Golden Ticket Awards.

“With the addition of Cheetah Chase, Splashin’ Safari will now be the undisputed Water Coaster Capital of the world,” added Eckert.

Back in 2017, Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari confirmed a new waterslide complex and wave pool as part of a $3.5 million investment.
