PGAV Destinations, a global leader in the planning and design of unique destinations, has been recognised for its work on Rulantica at Europa-Park in Germany.

PGAV Destinations is celebrating the success of Rulantica Water World, Europa-Park’s new indoor water park which opened at the end of 2019. The company was part of the talented team which made the water park a reality and this work has now been recognised at the World Waterpark Association’s Virtual Conference and WWA Show, with the presentation of the Leading Edge Award.

Rulantica is the largest single investment in the German theme park’s history and is home to 25 water attractions over 350,000 square feet.

Leading Edge Award for Rulantica

The Leading Edge Award celebrates creativity in the development of attractions and concepts in the water attractions industry. This award highlights the work done by the team to create a unique, immersive themed world in the design of Rulantica.

People enjoying Rulantica

“Rulantica was a tremendous, collaborative effort spanning many years. A major test of any design is that it is loved by the client and their visitors alike,” says PGAV Destinations vice president and project lead, Jeff Havlik. “Team recognition in the creation and visioning of a project this size by industry peers through WWA is a gratifying culmination.

“The Mack Family & Europa-Park Team are phenomenal attractions partners – creative, driven, and focused on authentic storytelling. It was an honour to partner with them in further developing and refining the initial master plan and developing the Rulantica indoor water park through Concept Design.”

The award also goes to the following manufacturers and suppliers for their work on Rulantica: API Water Fun GmbH, Aquarena GmbH, aquila wasseraufbereitungstechnik GmbH, MackNeXT/Mack Solutions, Murphys Waves, and ProSlide Technology.

Earlier this year,  PGAV Destinations also announced a milestone in the expansion project at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium, with the addition of five Atlantic bottlenose dolphins to the new Ruth and J.O. Stone Dolphin Complex.
