Therme's new immersive experience fuses nature and tech

Guests can enjoy a unique “forest bathing experience”

Germany's Therme Euskirchen wellness complex has launched a new immersive experience that fuses nature and technology.

Titled 'Forest Bathing Lupuna', the multi-sensory production can be found in the new 'Immersive Sky' experience room. It was installed by art collective Marshmallow Laser Feast and designers from the Love Triangle.


Guests enjoy a unique "forest bathing experience" through sound, scent, water, movement and imagery as they discover the story of the Lupuna tree, found in various parts of the Amazon rainforest.

Via a press release, the new concept shows howTherme Group and its strategic partner Thermengruppe Josef Wund continue to pioneer new forms of wellbeing for their guests.

Franz Hofstetter, CIO of Thermengruppe Josef Wund, said: "We not only want to set new standards, but also underpin them with a strong commitment to improving the quality of life of our guests and our community.

"We are creating something new with innovative ideas using technologies and media that meet people’s needs."

Therme Bucharest, Therme's flagship resort, attracted a record number of international guests last year amid a growing trend forimmersive experiences focusing on wellness.

“With an increased global recognition of the Therme concept, 30 percent of visitors to Therme are shown to be guests from outside of Romania,” Therme Group said in a press release.

New forms of wellbeing

Immersive wellness is a major trend to watch in the attractions business this year. The idea is pioneered by Therme, which fuseswater parkattractions and wellbeing treatments with art, nature and technology.

Therme Group will present a new carbon tokenomics model at greenloop 2024, blooloop’s online conference focusing on sustainability in visitor attractions.

Now in its fourth year, greenloop aims to inform and inspire with top speakers and networking. The event takes place online on 30 April.
