Universal’s Volcano Bay water park to launch first-ever nighttime event

Universal Orlando’s Volcano Bay water park has announced its first-ever nighttime event, combining aquatic attractions, live entertainment and more.

The new event, called Universal Volcano Bay Nights, will take place on select Saturday nights including 12 and 26 April, and 3, 10 and 17 May.

As they experience Volcano Bay beneath the stars, guests will enjoy live performances, DreamWorks character interactions and complimentary island treats such as Spicy Island Shrimp and Cheesy Cliffside Seashell Pasta.

Also, there will be lower wait times and exclusive access to rides like Krakatau Aqua Coaster and Ko’okiri Body Plunge.

At Waturi Beach, there will be a live DJ, while nostalgic games such as hula hoop and limbo will be on offer under the park’s 200-foot Krakatau volcano.

DreamWorks characters available to meet guests will include Shrek and Fiona and Puss in Boots and Kitty Soft Paws from ShrekKing Julien and Alex from Madagascar, and Poppy, Branch and Guy Diamond from Trolls.

Universal Studios Hollywood is also expanding its programme of after-hours events with the new Universal Fan Fest Nights.

Universal Fan Fest Nights will feature new experiences inspired by sci-fi, fantasy, gaming and anime brands like Star TrekBack to the Future, Dungeons & Dragons, One Piece and Jujutsu Kaisen.

Universal Orlando’s Volcano Bay opened in 2017. It covers 25 acres and includes more than 30 experiences and attractions.

These range from body slides and raft rides to a multi-directional wave pool and hydro-magnetic waterslide coaster.
