WhiteWater, a leading waterpark manufacturer, has been honoured with three prestigious IAAPA Brass Ring Awards, which celebrate achievements of excellence throughout the global attractions industry.
Blasterango Battle, the company’s racing slide, received Best New Product for Water Park Ride/Attraction, while Virtual Pass Processing by Vantage won Best Product or Service Used by Consumers. Vantage was also awarded the prestigious IMPACT Award, which was picked from all winners in the best new product or service categories.
Combining two park favourites
Blasterango Battle, a fusion of two Master Blaster lanes in a combined flume and two Boomerangos, garnered a viral level of social media attention as “The Edge” in its debut season at Tennessee’s Soaky Mountain Waterpark.
Riders race through a variety of sensations on this intense duelling water coaster, from gigantic drops to uphill blasts, high Gs to zero G, divided dark flumes with bursts of AquaLucent colours to amusing music and light features that heighten the competition. It is not only a delightful trip for guests, but its side-by-side Boomerango walls create a theming opportunity that works as a marketable landmark both online and offline.
While Blasterango Battle is a thrilling attraction for customers, it was also designed with operators in mind. This water slide includes Smart Blast technology for saving water and energy, detachable bottom panels for easy maintenance, and RTM fibreglass parts for a longer lifespan.
Delivering a Vantage impact
Vantage, WhiteWater’s software division, recently launched an automated season pass processing system that streamlines the process for both guests and staff, reducing large lines at the start of a park’s season as well as friction throughout. This innovative feature was first implemented at Island H2O Water Park in Florida this year, receiving an overwhelmingly positive response.
The process replaces the former manual procedure of queuing at the ticket office to redeem an online coupon, followed by paper forms, taking a photo, and issuing a physical card.
With Vantage, the mobile app handles data and photo upload and provides a season pass directly to the guest’s phone in minutes, not hours. This not only makes purchasing a season pass more fun, but it also captures accurate data to personalise the guest experience and deliver actionable insights to the operator.
Offering great experiences
According to the IAAPA Brass Ring Award judges, Vantage is set to “will have the most impact on the attractions industry”
“We are very proud of the team, and we are very proud of everyone at WhiteWater to make Vantage successful,” said Vantage president Michael Jungen.
WhiteWater president Paul Chutter adds: “These award-winning products have one thing in common: whether physical or digital, they offer a great experience for guests.
“At the same time, they consider operator demands, such as saving operating costs as well as time and staffing needs. From product management to project management and installation, we are all very honoured to have our expertise and hard work recognized by the industry.”
WhiteWater’s Mike Rigby has also recently been confirmed to be serving a second term for TEA’s Europe and Middle East Division board of directors.
