Attractions.io, leading creator of mobile visitor apps, has enabled Twycross Zoo to go paperless, thanks to its new mobile app.
Attractions.io is pleased to announce that it has provided visitor favourite Twycross Zoo with a brand new app. Visitors to the UK zoo will now be able to use interactive maps through the app, in a move that signals the end of wasteful paper maps being printed.
Twycross Zoo is a much-loved destination, with over 100 different species. It specialises in conservation and is home to one of the biggest collections of primates in Europe, including chimpanzees and gibbons.
Going paperless
The app is one of a number of measures put in place by the zoo in order to reduce its carbon footprint. The interactive maps use GPS, so visitors can see exactly where they are in the zoo, in real-time. They can also use the app to find the fastest route from one exhibit to another or the quickest way to get to any of the zoo’s facilities.
Karen Clarke, Chief Operating Officer at Twycross Zoo, says: “Our aim was to launch a mobile app that puts everything you need to have a great day at your fingertips, whether it’s up-coming talk schedules or information on our essential conservation work.
“By going digital-first and replacing our paper maps with an interactive version, we’re proud to be making further strides in protecting our environment and reducing our carbon footprint.”
The app has other useful features besides the interactive map. It allows guests to plan their day, and even get access to exclusive offers. The zoo can send targeted messages to users, having gathered data on their location and visiting habits.
