The Pocono Record reports that Ripley Entertainment, Inc. plans to build an aquarium in Tobyhanna Township.

State Senator Mario Scavello is reported to have confirmed the $200 million projectwill go ahead, as well as a second as yet unnamed attraction. There has been no official confirmation from Ripley Entertainment, Inc..

There arecurrently three Ripley's aquariums: Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies in Gatlinburg, TN, Ripley’s Aquarium in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada, in Toronto.

Paignton Zoo owner Wild Planet Trust has confirmed that the 85-acre zoo, home to more than 2,000 animals, is on the market alongside 18 acres of adjacent land.
