SSA Group, an award-winning provider of visitor amenities, has recently launched its Representation Matters retail collection at locations across the US. This new collection includes items that have been supplied by underrepresented populations, including Black-owned and disabled-owned businesses, Asian communities, Veterans, Women, LGBTQ communities and more.
Throughout the year, the collection will be available at 25 retail locations, with the intention of adding more as demand arises.
Supporting small to medium-sized businesses and providing unique products
The range will vary depending on the location, but visitors can expect to see everything from toys and puzzles to candles, notebooks, jewellery and more. SSA Group’s goal with the Representation Matters collection is to support these small to medium size businesses while at the same time bringing mission-matched and unique products to our stores.
The collections will be available year-round, and the team will also highlight different celebrations throughout the year with specific products, for example marking Women’s History Month, Earth Day, AAPI, Pride, Hispanic Heritage Month, & Native American Heritage Month
SSA says that its retail staff are thrilled about the launch of this new collection and they can’t wait to share it with their guests.
“I am proud to say, we are truly living DEAI at SSA,” says the firm’s IDEA + belonging manager, Yonate Johnson. “The impact of this collection is driving economic stability in underrepresented populations and closing the gap on disparities. These businesses often experience funding gaps and a lack of access to capital and sustainable contracts. A partnership with SSA extends the reach of their products to millions of cultural attraction guests across the nation.”
SSA Group also recently announced that it has expanded its partnership with Minnesota Zoo in Apple Valley, Minnesota. In December 2022, SSA Group began operating the zoo’s food service, in addition to retail operations which the company has been operating since 2003.
