Permits have been filed byThe City of Atlanta to start work on the Grand New View project at Zoo Atlanta.
The $41M developmentwillreinvigoratethe old Cyclorama building. It will be, according to the zoo, "revitalised and reborn as a one-of-a-kind event destination overlooking the wonders of an all-new African savanna.African elephants will roam (in) a new and significantly expanded habitat."
In fact Two separate permits were filed.The first was for thedevelopment of the land to create thesavanna expansion. This also coversthe development of the elephant barn. The second was ademolition permit to bring down some of the old animalenclosures.
