Next to Montreal’s St. Lawrence River, the Old Port of Montreal is Quebec’s most visited attraction. The wheel will occupy a prime location as the Old Port attracts over six million visitors a year.

Regardless of the weather, the wheel will operate year-round from 10am to 11pm. Visitors will be able to see for up to 28km. Each of the 42 temperature-controlled gondolas will seat up to 8 people. The ride will comprise three revolutions over 15 minutes.

Because of the expected boost to both tourism and business La Grande Roue de Montreal has received enthusiast support from the city.  Tourism Montreal, the Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan Montreal, the Palais des Congrès de Montréal, and the Société de Développement Commercial (SDC) du Vieux-Montréalhave are all behind the project.
