The new show offers state-of-the-art technology, musical performances and acrobatic acts.

Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey has revealed more about ‘The Greatest Show On Earth’ ahead of its tour of North America in fall 2023.

The famous circus, which ended its 146-year-run in January 2017, is making a comeback this year without animal performers.

Instead, the show features musical performances, modern comedy, and acrobatic acts on highwires, trapeze and bikes.

Additionally, it uses state-of-the-art technology to enhance each performance, such as sonic spatial technology and a spotlight tracking system.

“We’re reintroducing Ringling at a time when families are seeking shared entertainment experiences that provide joy, connection, and moments of togetherness,” said Kenneth Feld, the chair and CEO of Feld Entertainment.

“To redefine Ringling for today’s audiences, we started with a blank slate and evolved all aspects from production to performance to meet the needs of modern families, ultimately creating a massive playground that delivers an incredible and unique performance that can only be called ‘The Greatest Show On Earth’.”

The show’s cast of 75 performers come from more than 18 countries. Guests will enjoy new acts with apparatus innovations created exclusively for Ringling.

The ‘triangular highwire’ includes four performers on three 25-foot highwires linked in a triangular formation, and the ‘extreme box jump trampoline’ sends bikers soaring.

State-of-the-art tech and human acts

The ‘criss-cross flying trapeze’ features nine trapeze artists, while a double wheel offers four open-sided wheels powered by acrobats who perform jumps between both apparatuses.

“The new entertainment experience will present a phenomenal scale of wow and wonder that only Ringling can deliver and is designed for families to leave inspired, energized, and filled with memories to last a lifetime,” said Juliette Feld Grossman, the chief operating officer at Feld Entertainment and the show’s producer.

Tickets for ‘The Greatest Show On Earth‘ are on sale now.
