BRPH, a full-service architecture, engineering, and construction firm, has appointed Carlos Varela and Albert Heisler to its entertainment division.

With these hires, BRPH gains leaders who not only build attractions but also truly understand what makes them memorable, functional and loved over the long term.

Passion & precision

Varela and Heisler bring decades of experience in global themed entertainment, architecture, and construction leadership.

Joining the company as project executive, Varela brings over 25 years of experience as a licensed architect and construction management leader.

Previous positions include serving as construction manager on landmark attractions at Universal Creative and director of design and engineering at SeaWorld. He also has experience in retail, government, and commercial sectors, providing him with a well-rounded view of project execution and delivery.

At BRPH, Varela brings deep knowledge of managing large, first-of-its-kind entertainment projects, balancing creativity with schedule, budget and operations. His leadership prioritises early partnership with operations and maintenance teams to manage risk and ensure attractions perform reliably over the long term.

Heisler joins BRPH as a project manager, bringing an international portfolio that spans major entertainment destinations in the US, the Middle East, and Asia.

With a background in urban planning, Heisler has contributed to high-profile projects, including IMG Worlds of Adventure in Dubai, Doha Zoo in Qatar, entertainment developments in Saudi Arabia, and marquee attractions for Universal Creative in Florida, California, and Japan.

He specialises in designing attractions that evolve over time, are long-lasting, operationally versatile, and feature immersive storytelling. His expertise in Blue Sky concept design and large-scale delivery positions him to support BRPH’s most intricate entertainment projects.

Together, Varela and Heisler offer an unusual combination of creative vision, technical precision, and practical delivery experience. Both are deeply passionate about themed entertainment, focusing on crafting memorable guest experiences and destinations that leave a lasting impact.
