culturenut was created in 2019 by Exhibits Development Group (EDG), a leading international cultural exchange group. EDG recognised the enormous amount of waste thrown away by the cultural world, and so decided to use culturenut as a way to support the industry while also working to reduce waste.

Providing an immediate and accessible resource to cultural institutions around the world, the platform enables users to recycle and up cycle assets which would otherwise be left idle. Honouring the Earth and our responsibility to her, culturenut and EDG are committed to their continuous mission to recycle, up cycle, and reuse collective resources. They ask their global community to stop and consider if somebody else could use it, before throwing it away, and get in touch with culturenut to explore other options. The added bonus lies in the opportunity to make a little money in the process!
How it works
culturenut allows cultural institutions to buy and sell with confidence, as only validated and approved users are able to access the culturenet market place. The process is simple, and culturenut handles all the details between buyer and seller. When transporting your inventory, culturenut sellers use safe and secure shipping to make sure buyers receive their goods efficiently and well protected.
Sellers

Buyers

Thousands of buyers and sellers across the cultural and attractions industries are already using culturenut, making it the go to platform giving idle assets a new lease of life. Museums already taking part in the movement include Space Center Houston, The Doseum, MoPOP and more.
Sustainable museums are quickly becoming a focus for the public, as the need to reduce carbon emissions becomes a vital part of human survival. The place of cultural institutions is to not only teach through exhibitions, but also lead by example, and culturenut is perfectly placed to assist museums in this transition.
