DTJ DESIGN, a multi-disciplinary architecture, planning, and landscape architecture practice, has once again been recognised at the 2026 World Travel Awards, where its project Baha Bay at Baha Mar has been named the Caribbean's Leading Water Park for the fifth consecutive year.
The historic win continues the destination's perfect record, which it has held since the category's introduction.
The award further cements Baha Bay's reputation as one of the world's leading aquatic attractions, bringing together innovative water experiences, top-tier food and beverages, immersive entertainment, and authentic Bahamian design within the wider Baha Mar resort.
DTJ DESIGN serves as the park's prime consultant, providing concept visioning, master planning, architecture, and landscape architecture.

Since its launch, Baha Bay has set a new standard for Caribbean water parks, combining thrilling attractions with premium hospitality. Its continued success demonstrates the long-term dedication of its ownership, operations teams, and design partners to the ongoing evolution of the visitor experience.
John Torti, partner at DTJ DESIGN, says: "It is truly incredible. It really is.
"This is our fifth year winning, and it truly is a testament to all the hard work and dedication, not only from the design staff at DTJ DESIGN, but the resort ownership, operations team, and the incredibly talented group of people who have come together to make Baha Bay what it is today.
"To win five years in a row is an extraordinary achievement."
Quality and authenticity
The accolade reflects a vision that looks far beyond rides and attractions, adds Torti.
"From the beginning, Baha Bay was conceived as a fully integrated destination. The plan was always to create a state-of-the-art experience that encompasses not only world-class rides, but also food and beverage programs, entertainment, events, conferences, and year-round activation.
"Baha Mar has done an incredible job bringing that vision to life. They have truly embraced every aspect of the guest experience, and our continued support as designers has been focused on helping that vision evolve and grow."
The award comes as the destination continues to strengthen its international reputation.
Baha Bay has repeatedly received recognition from both travellers and sector professionals for its unique approach, which melds high-quality attractions with authentic cultural storytelling and a strong connection to the Bahamian location.
While many water parks concentrate on rides, Baha Bay was developed to offer a multidimensional resort experience that combines aquatic adventures, luxury facilities, entertainment programming, and destination dining into a coherent visitor journey.
"This achievement demonstrates what is possible when owners, operators, and designers remain aligned around a shared vision," says Torti.
"The team has never stopped investing inthe experience, and that commitment is reflected in the guests who visit every year and in theindustry recognition the destination continues to receive."
Earlier this year, Summit Canyon opened at Water World in Colorado, US. The themed expansion was delivered through close partnership between DTJ DESIGN, Proslide Technology, Aquatic Development Group (ADG), Kiowa Engineering, and park owner Hyland Hills Parks and Recreation District.
