Leisure Expert Group, a leading experience design company, is once again working with Djurs Sommerland in Denmark, building on a long-term collaboration to contribute to the park's Vikingeland expansion.
Featuring a new Intamin Hot Racer named Midgårdsormen, set to open in 2027, the expansion will seamlessly follow the area's existing theme. Leisure Expert Group has been closely involved in its development, from early masterplanning through detailed design.

Strategic masterplanning
The project required Leisure Expert Group to develop a new piece of land with a natural flow. The landscaping uses strong natural elements, with influences from Norse mythology to bring coherence and even more adventure to the park.
Masterplanning considers not only ride placement, but also placemaking and dwell time. Visitor flow, planting, playgrounds, shade, and theming all help optimise dwell time and are deliberately designed to enhance the guest experience.
Through its collaborative approach, Leisure Expert Group develops future-proof visions for continuous growth that align with its clients' strategic ambitions.
Its team of concept designers, architects, and technical experts shapes new immersive experiences that create memorable moments for the whole family, while finding the right balance to best serve the visitor profile.

Following the development of Dinosaurland and Mexicoland, the Vikingeland expansion represents another significant milestone for the park.
Leisure Expert Group is shaping the park's design step by step through phased masterplanning, with the new Intamin single-rail coaster and a themed F&B facility in the first phase.
Earlier this year, Leisure Expert Group and Paultons Park, UK, celebrated the official opening of the new Viking-themed zone, Valgard.
