MSC Cruises has announced upgrades to Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, the cruise line's private island in The Bahamas.

Among the enhancements are new F&B outlets, an adults-only beach, a dedicated family lagoon, and an extended pier to accommodate a second ship.

Opened in late 2019, Ocean Cay provides more than two miles of pristine beachfront across eight beaches. It also offers areas to relax or swim, seven bars and a food court.

From late 2027, Ocean Cay will feature four new dining experiences, the new Paradise Sands beach for adults, and more cabanas.

It will also offer an upgraded Seakers Cove family beach, with new experiences such as a playground, a splashpad and a ropes course with water elements.

Another attraction set to debut in late 2027 is a marine conservation experience, brought to life through immersive, hands-on experiences.

Ocean Cay pier extension

Construction work has started on extending the pier to accommodate two ships. This project is also due for completion in late 2027.

Additionally, work is continuing on the development of a second private island destination adjacent to Ocean Cay.

Currently referred to as Little Cay, the new destination will also feature pristine beaches, luxury facilities and water features.

MSC Cruises is also expanding its fleet with the recent order of two new World Class ships worth €3.5 billion, due to be delivered in 2030 and 2031.

With the new World Class ships – numbers 7 and 8 – MSC Cruises will offer a total of eight World Class vessels.
