Barco, the technology company focusing on innovative visualization solutions, is hosting a free webinar to explore how technology can be used to create an immersive museum experience.

Barco is pleased to announce that registration is now open for a free webinar on immersive technology on 23 March 2020. During the 45 minute session, attendees will learn how technology helped to create Culturespaces’ immersive exhibition Bassins de Lumières. They will also get a sneak preview of the new installation, which opens later this year.

Bassins de Lumières will be the largest digital art centre in the world when it opens in April and is located in a former submarine base in Bordeaux, France.

Discover immersive technology

Through this webinar, Barco will highlight how they used technology to meet Culturespaces’ needs for this new space. Looking at the trend for immersive experiences in museums, the webinar will look at Culturespaces as an innovator in immersive digital storytelling, and how technology has enabled its vision to become reality.

Three expert speakers also feature on the agenda. Augustin de Cointet de Fillain joined Culturespaces in 2013 to manage les Carrières de Lumières, where he developed an experience dedicated to immersing the public in a large-scale indoor projection exhibition. He now manages Culturespaces Digital, a subsidiary in charge of the technical design of Culturespaces’ art centres, and is also at the head of Bassins de Lumières.

Yannick Kohl is the Founder and CEO of Modulo Pi, a company which designs real-time fully integrated media server solutions. Kohl has extensive experience in the field. After working on the very first media server over 15 years ago, he founded Modulo Pi in order to provide powerful and versatile systems.

Leander Werbrouck is Segment Manager ProAv/Events at Barco. He is a tech-savvy entrepreneur with product management and strategic marketing experience, with a Masters degree in Engineering. Werbrouck has been with the Barco Entertainment team since 2018, where he takes the lead on professional AV segments, enabling clients to create immersive experiences and attractions.

Places for the free webinar can be booked here.

Barco recently had a successful visit ISE 2020 in Amsterdam, where it showcased a number of innovations, including new additions to its UDM projector range and an expanded LED offering.
