Creative Studio Berlin, the experiential design firm founded by Chris Lange, is working on the production and design of a new historical experience in Berlin, Germany.

Found in the city centre, a unique immersive and interactive experience will soon take locals and tourists of all ages through the diverse history of Germany, transporting audiences from the earliest of times all the way through to the country‘s unification.

During a roughly one-hour tour, visitors learn important dates, figures, and events from German history. The twelve thematic exhibit rooms put visitors in different eras of history.

The history will come to life through the utilisation of authentic sets, sound, lighting, covert technology, graphic panels, interactive maps and displays, artwork, and antiques. Visitors are inspired to learn more about history by feeling like a part of it thanks to this immersive method.

Educational and accurate

Deutschlandmuseum investor and operator Robert Rueckel is Creative Studio Berlin’s client for the project. He also operates the adjacent German Spy Museum, which receives 400,000 visitors annually.

He says: “The Deutschlandmuseum project is well underway and will open to the public this summer.

“No museum has ever told 2,000 years of history through immersive spaces mixed with state-of-the-art exhibition design and interactive installations quite like this.”

“We are delighted with the concept Creative Studio Berlin created. We demanded historical accuracy and a unique guest experience, and we have accomplished this with a strong collaboration between our local staff, scientific and historical experts, and Chris’s team.”

Working with trusted partners

Daniel Ruede, a producer at Creative Studio Berlin, is responsible for assembling the attraction: “We put together a world-class team with companies like Atelier Thilo Krause, Movie Construction, Crossworks Project, or Werkstatt 4 we worked with before.

“You need proven partners you can trust with such an ambitious timeline, from idea to opening in under one year.” For the design of the audio, video, light & show control, and on-site technical guidance, Creative Studio Berlin collaborated with Bentin Projects.

The project’s creative director, Lange, has also worked with some of the city’s most well-known tourist attractions, including Merlin Entertainments’ Berlin Dungeon, Sea Life Center, Madame Tussauds, and LEGOLAND Discovery Center. Creative Studio Berlin created and developed the new “Roaring Twenties” experience at Madame Tussauds and the “Curse of the Witches” show for The Dungeon, both in Berlin.

On 14 April during the TEA INSPIRE conference at the Disneyland Resort, Lange will interview Roland Mack, who recently won the Buzz Price lifetime achievement Thea Award.
