Pacific Wharf is being transformed into San Fransokyo from Disney’s Big Hero 6.

Disneyland Resort’s new Big Hero 6-themed area, San Fransokyo Square, is due to open at Disney California Adventure in summer 2023.

As announced during D23 Expo 2022, Pacific Wharf in Disney California Adventure is being transformed into San Fransokyo from Disney’s 2014 film Big Hero 6.

San Fransokyo Square is a fictional combination of two iconic cities – San Francisco and Tokyo. Like Pacific Wharf, the new area will continue to serve mainly as an F&B location.

In addition to the existing dining locations, the new Port of San Fransokyo Cervecería includes a beer garden decorated with festoon lights and papel picado.

An iconic landmark of San Fransokyo Square is the San Fransokyo Gate Bridge. Outside a converted warehouse, guests will get the chance to meet Baymax.

Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Disney’s first ride-through attraction featuring Mickey and Minnie Mouse, recently opened at Disneyland as part of the resort’s Disney100 celebrations

Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway can be found in Mickey’s Toontown, which debuts on 19 March after being reimagined to offer new experiences.

Additionally, Disneyland has announced plans to turn the French Market Restaurant in New Orleans Square into Tiana’s Palace, inspired by The Princess and the Frog.

Tiana’s Palace will open later this year, followed by Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in 2024. The new attraction replaces Splash Mountain.

Earlier this month, the Walt Disney Company announced plans to cut 7,000 jobs in a bid to save $5.5bn in costs and make its Disney+ streaming business profitable.
