The team behind the BBC series Walking With Dinosaurs has created Dinosaurs in the Wild – described as a “70-minute experience that combines dramatic storytelling, scripted actors, and high-end digital graphics and animatronics to create a believable prehistoric world”.

The experience will be an immersive safari like adventure mixing theatre, science and thrills.

Visitors to Dinosaurs in the Wild will be transported back 67 million years by Chronotex Enterprises to the Timebase67 scientific research station where there is a dinosaur hatchery and guests can witness a dinosaur autopsy.

The adventure includes an action-packed drive across the Cretaceous plains, and close encounters with a Triceratops and Alamosaurus.

The tour ends with a visit to The Lookout.  Huge windows providing panoramic views of the prehistoric life outside and close up views of a massive and very angry Tyrannosaurus rex!

Nine dinosaurs will be represented including the Tyrannosaurus rex, the Triceratops, the Alamosaurus and the Ankylosaurus.  The attraction will include VR technology so that visitors can see the world through a dinosaur’s eyes.

NME reports that Producer Jill Bryant says of the experience: “We were keen to create something new that raised the bar for live action experiences and we’re confident Dinosaurs in the Wild will do just that. This is a new dinosaur experience of unparalleled reality, where visitors will encounter these animals and their world in ways they have never seen before.”

Dinosaurs In The Wild will run at Birmingham’s NEC Arena from June 24 to August 24 before moving to Manchester in October.
