Experiential Media Group (E/M Group), an industry leader in creating travelling exhibitions and experiences, is bringing TITANIC: The Artifact Exhibition to Switzerland this September.
The firm holds the biggest collection of authentic artefacts from Titanic, recovered by its expedition teams from the wreck site on the ocean floor. Its blockbuster touring show, TITANIC: The Artifact Exhibition, is set to open at Beaulieu Lausanne in Vaud on 27 September 2024.
Tickets are available here.
Extensive artefact collection
The exhibition, visited by more than 35 million people worldwide, is acclaimed for its sensitive portrayal of the Titanic’s history and narrative. Visitors can now picture themselves on the famous ship with a new immersive gallery.
Gautam Chandna, business development director, E/M Group, says: “Switzerland is a key destination for TITANIC: The Artifact Exhibition. The stories of bravery and courage are vividly brought to life through the authentic artifacts we are honored to present in Lausanne.
“Exhibition visitors will also be the first to experience a new immersive section that offers a closer connection to the Ship and exclusive, re-created images of life on deck. In our ongoing mission to share the Titanic’s legacy, we look forward to bringing this extraordinary artifact collection to other major cities in the future.”
This exhibition presents a curated selection of original objects that have been respectfully recovered from the Titanic wreck site, and that bring the grandeur and tragedy of the iconic ship to life.
Every item offers a tangible connection to the ship’s history and a window into the lives of the crew and passengers. The exhibition will include stories of those on board with strong links to Switzerland, such as the Kink family.
The Kink family, consisting of father Anton, mother Luise, and daughter Louise, aspired to a better life in America like many other third-class families. They were the only family in third-class steerage where all immediate members survived the disaster. However, like many others, Anton’s brother and sister died that night.
Tomasina Ray, director of collections for RMS Titanic, Inc., says: “The tragedy of Titanic reverberated across the globe. Switzerland was represented in all three classes and throughout Titanic’s crew. The artifacts tell their stories as only the real artifacts from the Titanic can. I am also excited to step into the immersive space that is new for Lausanne, allowing an enhanced experience of history and Titanic’s wreck site.”
Beaulieu Lausanne, located in Vaud’s Olympic Capital, is a vibrant hub for events and culture that reflects the region’s dynamic energy. TITANIC: The Artifact Exhibition opens on 27 September.
Earlier this month, E/M Group was awarded Best Museum Exhibition in Time Out Melbourne Arts & Culture Awards 2024: People’s Choice for Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition.
