Experiential Media Group (E/M Group), an industry leader in creating travelling exhibitions and experiences, and its affiliate RMS Titanic, Inc. (RMST), partnered with Museums Victoria to establish the next location for TITANIC: The Artifact Exhibition. Following blockbuster worldwide openings in Sweden and France, the powerful story of Titanic will be displayed at Melbourne Museum in Victoria, Australia from 16 December 2023 to 14 April 2024.
E/M Group and RMST will bring a curated collection of over 200 authentic artefacts, offering visitors of all ages the opportunity to experience the real stories of Titanic passengers and crew.
Real Titanic artefacts, meticulously collected from the wreck site, have been respectfully conserved and displayed to educate guests and tell the story of the ship and its fateful voyage. Over 35 million people have seen TITANIC: The Artifact Exhibition to date.

Dramatic room reconstructions are on display in the exhibition, including the famous Grand Staircase, complete with the Aft Staircase Cherub that was found on the first RMS Titanic, Inc. expedition in 1987. Visitors will also be able to view hundreds of authentic artefacts, such as an elegant sterling silver mesh purse worn with an evening gown and the telegraph that First Officer Murdoch used to communicate commands to the engine room.
“Museums Victoria represents a significant milestone in the company’s mission to raise awareness about the Titanic” says E/M Group’s business development director, Gautam Chandna. “The Exhibition promises intriguing elements for visitors to discover.”
Museums Victoria CEO & director, Lynley Crosswell, adds: “Tragedy, heroism, sacrifice, survival and loss – these are themes the Titanic evokes which continue to resonate today, with people of all ages across the globe. We are thrilled to welcome this global blockbuster to Melbourne Museum.”
Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events, Steve Dimopoulos, says: “The tragedy of the Titanic is known around the world, but there are so many personal stories and historic details to uncover through this illuminating exhibition proudly brought to Melbourne Museum with support from the Government.”
RMST uses educational programmes, innovative exhibitions, research and recovery initiatives, wreck site imaging and analysis, and ongoing collaborations to conserve the legacy of Titanic‘s maiden voyage and preserve passengers’ and crew’s memories. RMST is the only business legally allowed to retrieve Titanic artefacts. It has recovered and conserved approximately 5,500 artefacts since 1987.
