Guide-ID, the audio tour specialist, has supplied its Podcatcher Pro device to Anne Frank: The Exhibition in New York to discreetly enhance understanding and reflection.
Presented by the Anne Frank House and hosted by the Center for Jewish History, the exhibition brings the secret Annex, where Anne Frank and her family hid for over two years, to audiences outside the Netherlands for the first time.
Anne Frank: The Exhibition launched on 27 January 2025 to mark the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz. It features a life-size model of the Annex and explores key moments of Anne’s life, with historical artefacts, photos, and film clips.
Uninterrupted immersion
Anne Frank: The Exhibition effectively uses the Podcatcher Pro to enhance the experience without bringing attention to the technology itself.
Guests interact intuitively. They do not need to think about how to engage with the space, they simply listen, reflect, and connect. The result is a truly moving and memorable journey through history, powered by seamless storytelling.
When creating the exhibition, the museum team knew that an audio guide was essential. This builds on the success of the Podcatcher Pro at Anne Frank House in Amsterdam, where the technology has long been an important element of the visitor experience.
The museum’s objective was to maintain the immersive experience and enable visitors to fully comprehend the story without interruption. The Podcatcher Pro provides a hands-free experience that does not require the use of QR codes or apps. Upon entering a new area, guests simply scan a beacon and the story begins.

There are two tour options, an overview and a more detailed version. Notably, the majority of visitors select the full-length tour, engaging extensively with the content from beginning to end.
A dedicated tour has also been created for visitors aged 10 to 14, making the attraction accessible to school groups. The guided narrative enables younger visitors to understand the story at their own level, encouraging comprehension and contemplation.
Jeff Danziger, sales director North America, says: “We are honoured to play a small part in helping tell this story, enabling visitors to deeply connect with Anne’s words and experiences through our interactive museum technology, the Podcatcher Pro.”
Last month, Guide-ID shared details of its project to bring its Podcatcher Pro audio guide solution to Museum Odense in Denmark, where it is helping visitors to engage meaningfully with the exhibitions.
