The Kharkiv Art Museum has launched an NFT collection on Binance NFT, the blockchain’s NFT marketplace, to support Ukrainian cultural heritage.

Proceeds from the NFT collection and auction will be donated to the museum, home to one of the oldest and most valuable art collections in Ukraine.

Currently, the institution includes around 25,000 works art from Ukraine, Western Europe, the Middle East and Far East dating back to the 15th century.

The Kharkiv Art Museum is auctioning 15 works from its collection, by artists including Albrecht Dürer, Georgius Jacobus Johannes van Os, Ivan Aivazovsky and Simon de Vlieger.

Supporting Ukrainian cultural heritage

“Throughout the ongoing crisis in Ukraine, digital assets have played an important role in providing fast, efficient, and simple help to those in need,” said Helen Hai, head of Binance NFT.

“Together with the Kharkiv Art Museum, we will present the NFT collection which combines Web3 technology and pieces of art that the museum preserves so carefully,” Hai added.

“We hope that this project will attract the attention of art connoisseurs and help the museum keep up with the times.”

Called ‘Art Without Borders’, the collection is divided into three categories, as follows:

  • Gold includes five art pieces – starting price $1,000 BUSD
  • Silver includes five art pieces – starting price $750 BUSD
  • Bronze includes five art pieces – starting price is $500 BUSD

“With the help of Web3 technologies, the collection of the Kharkiv Art Museum can be exhibited anywhere in the digital world,” said Honcharov Agency CEO Oleksandr Honcharov.

“Masterpieces cared for by the museum will be able to help its development in such a difficult time.”

‘Art Without Borders’

Earlier this year, Dubai’s Museum of the Future teamed up with Binance NFT to launch its first NFT collection on the blockchain, titled ‘The Most Beautiful NFTs in the Metaverse’.

Binance NFT is one of the fastest growing NFT platforms in the world. Since launching, it has generated 40 million BUSD in sales.

Ukraine previously launched an NFT museum called ‘Meta History: Museum of War’ to collect donations and record Russia’s invasion of the country through digital images.
