Sarah Bagg ReWork Consulting

ReWork Consulting, a ticketing consultancy for the leisure, attractions and experience operators and technology suppliers, is reflecting on its involvement in this year’s Ticketing Professionals Conference (TPC), which took place from 22 – 24 March 2023 in Birmingham, UK.

The firm was established to help attractions and technology suppliers to get where they need to be quicker, with a clear strategy for growth and customer engagement. It is focused on improving sector standards and maximising technology partnerships. ReWork’s deep understanding of the attraction, leisure, and hospitality industries and software sectors gives it the experience, market awareness, and best practices to deliver a wide range of specialist services.

ReWork supports both operators and suppliers across the leisure, attractions and experience sectors with the best ticketing and technology partnerships. Clients include Merlin Entertainments, Wake the Tiger, the Lost Gardens of Heligan, LIVE IT and many more across theme parks, museums, activity centres, live entertainment and all sorts of attractions around the world.

Introducing ReWork

ReWork Consulting was founded by Sarah Bagg who has worked in the attraction, leisure and hospitality sectors for 24 years, from hands-on front-of-house roles to senior commercial and operational positions, including positions with well-known brands and household names, such as Chelsea Football Club, Mitchells and Butlers, The Visitor Attractions Company.

During the last decade, Bagg has honed her knowledge in ticketing, membership, Epos and CRM software, leading the strategy and delivery for sales and marketing, development roadmap, client engagement and retention for a leading supplier, as well handling the business and recruitment strategy. Bagg frequently shares insight, advice and thought leadership on her blog.

“ReWork do things differently; we’re picking up the things that work within the industry and leaving behind the processes that don’t,” says Bagg. “To ‘ReWork’ means to adapt, adjust, and correct, a key focus of the work we do is to review and analyse the business processes and projects we’re involved in. All with a view to save our clients time and increase revenue whilst putting the customer at the heart of the strategy.”

Ticketing Professionals Conference 2023

Bagg was one of half a dozen key industry experts on the content panel for this year’s TCP.

“This is one of my favourite events on the calendar,” she says. “I love it because it creates a learning environment, one that fosters networking to learn about each other rather than ‘forced selling’, which so many tradeshows can be designed around. I believe that learning and knowledge sharing are key to sales success.

“You can’t sell software/services to people that don’t need it or want it right now, but you can share knowledge, so that when they find themselves in a position where they need what you are offering, they think of you first – most importantly, in a position light. Because this event has traditionally focused on the theatre/sports and live entertainment space and less so on attractions, my focus was to help widen the content for this year’s event, so it widens the audience.

“In time, I hope we see more attractions attending this event.”

During the event, Bagg moderated a session entitled Recruitment and Culture – Attracting and Retaining Excellent Teams, featuring Michael Nabarro, co-founder of Spectrix and Derek Younder, director of sales and ticketing at The John F Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. She also moderated Improving Online Ticketing with Google Analytics 4, with speaker Chris Unitt, founder of One Further.

Working together to make the sector better

“It was encouraging to see so many female speakers at this year’s TPC, adds Bagg. “It reflects a positive change and one I hope other event organisers will also continue to focus on. The tech industry especially has traditionally been very male-dominated, but creating a diverse workforce means a more creative mix of ideas, which in turn enables better problem-solving. I look forward to shaping some part of that continued change.”

“Hopefully, in time, it will be on the list of every attractions operator, as a must for learning and sharing best practices, just as Visitor Attractions Conference has become over the years, but with the added value of learning from other neighbouring sectors.

A recent client, Kenton Ward, CEO of LIVE IT, says: “Sarah from ReWork has been a valuable asset to the LIVE IT team as we develop our new Attractions Ticketing Platform product. Her deep understanding of the industry and customer needs have been instrumental in shaping the product and launch strategy.

“Sarah’s attention to detail and ability to drive the vision of the product has made her an invaluable partner in the development process. We highly recommend her for anyone looking for a strategic advisor in the sector.”

Speaking about her goals for ReWork, Bagg says: “I believe business starts and ends with good people. People must be at the heart of everything we do. People buy from People, and technology is here to support and enhance the products/service not to replace the good work people do.   ReWork helps suppliers and operators to find better ways of working, by learning and sharing we believe we can all contribute to making this sector even better

“Together we can all ReWork”

More events to come

ReWork will also be attending the Ticketing Business Forum, run by Ian Nuttall.

“Together we hope to build out an attractions segment, which will appeal to those looking at attractions/live entertainment. Through my network, I am making introductions and building content for this new slot. I’m very excited to see what develops from here.”

Bagg recently recorded a session on the Brown Sign Podcast and will soon make an appearance on the Rubber Cheese podcast. Listeners to both recordings will be able to learn more about ReWork’s values and what drives the business.

ReWork Consulting has also been shortlisted in the category of Rising Star in the 2023 South East StartUp Awards. This UK awards scheme was created to celebrate the achievements of people who have had an innovative idea and have taken the risks to launch a new product or service.
