Roto, a leading planning & design-build firm, has announced the appointment of Elizabeth Fleming as a partner at the firm.
“In her time at Roto, Elizabeth has consistently demonstrated strong acumen for those elements critical to ensuring the company’s strong business future,” says Joseph Wisne, Roto founder and chief creative officer.
“With Elizabeth, Roto’s ownership group is stronger – more experienced, more diverse, and more effective than ever.”
Fleming who currently serves as a principal at Roto, joined the company as an associate producer in 2017. Since then, she has managed over 25 large-scale museum projects and major renovations. Additionally, she has directed numerous master planning strategies for institutions who have moved forward into design and production.
A respected leader and valued partner
In the past year, Fleming has spearheaded several new gallery openings at Nauticus, the Atlanta History Center, and the Great Lakes Science Center. She also recently took part in the groundbreaking for the Northern Virginia Science Center, a client she has been collaborating with since their master plan in 2017. The project is now in its final design phase and progressing toward production under her leadership.
Within Roto, Fleming is recognised as a respected leader and a valued partner in collaboration. As a managing principal, she oversees the work of her studio, which comprises 20 members, including designers, producers, architects, and project managers.
As a leader in the firm, she supervises Roto’s ongoing internal training program, which includes weekly cross-departmental sessions. These sessions provide best practice insights to all associates, ensuring they are well-prepared for any project.
Fleming has actively shared her expertise by participating on industry panels and review teams, including those associated with the National Science Foundation and ASTC, to enable others to benefit from her experiences. She was named as one of blooloop’s Top 50 Museum Influencers in 2023.
“We are delighted to have Elizabeth as a partner at Roto. Her experience and expertise in the science center field is a unique quality she brings to every Roto project,” says Maurice Twomey, Roto president and CFO.
“She has shown herself to be an exceptional leader in her words and actions and has deservedly earned the trust and respect of her colleagues and clients.”
Roto recently gave an update on Prototype: The Experimental Museum, its innovative new museum project in Scioto Audubon Park, Columbus, Ohio.
