Roto brings expertise to California Science Center's Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center

Company has been selected as an exhibit fabrication partner for the Aviation and Space galleries

Roto, a leading planning & design-build firm, has been chosen as an exhibit fabrication partner for approximately 36,500 square feet of exhibition space at the Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center at the California Science Center, Los Angeles.

This expansion, spanning 200,000 square feet and with a projected budget of $450 million, will provide a permanent home for the space shuttle Endeavour and honour the history, present, and future of aerospace innovation.


Immersive & interactive educational exhibits

Roto will work with the California Science Center and design partner Evidence Design to create immersive experiences and standout interactive educational exhibits in the Aviation and Space galleries.

In total, the expansion is set to include more than 80 immersive, hands-on, and media-rich experiences, as well as a varied collection of authentic aerospace artefacts.

With decades of experience transforming complex topics into captivating experiences, Roto is honoured to contribute to this once-in-a-generation project.

The Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center is set to greatly enhance the Science Center's educational impact and visitor capacity, solidifying its position as one of the leading science learning institutions in the US. The launch date is yet to be announced.

Recently, Roto appointed principalElizabeth Flemingas partner. Fleming joined the company as an associate producer in 2017. Since then, she has led more than 25 large-scale museum projects and major refurbishments and directed numerous master planning strategies.

Fleming is a respected leader and a valued partner. As a managing principal, she oversees the work of her studio, which comprises 20 members, including designers, producers, architects, and project managers.
