Science Museum and Alchemy VR Create Tim Peake Space Descent VR Experience

London’s Science Museum has partnered Alchemy VR to create a brand new Tim Peake-inspired VR attraction.

Space Descent VR simulates the descent Tim Peake experienced when he returned to Earth in a cramped space capsule.

Participants share the capsule with the astronaut himself as they ‘virtually’ descend 400km from the International Space Station at a speed of 25,000km per hour.

The 12-minute plummet to the Kazakhstan desert is the Science Museum’s first permanent VR attraction.

Peake reportedly described the experience as ‘breathtaking’ and said it was close to the real thing.
