The Royal Ballet and Opera, supported by Theatre Green Book, has launched a new website featuring a directory of sustainable suppliers to the culture sector.
The suppliers, organisations, freelancers and contractors on the list have voluntarily added their sustainability credentials, making them accessible across the culture sector and beyond.
The information is updated by the suppliers, with the Royal Ballet and Opera encouraging organisations to do this annually.
The new website has been designed to make it easier to show the sustainable suppliers, instead of the spreadsheet previously used to manage and view this information.
Accessible sustainability credentials
It follows last year's launch of the Royal Ballet and Opera's sustainable suppliers form, which can be used by suppliers that want to talk about their sustainability practices, or suppliers that receive a lot of questions about sustainability.
It can also be used by organisations that want to benchmark what sustainability practices are happening in a specific industry.
This information is then transferred to the website, allowing suppliers to direct people with future sustainability-related questions to the relevant information online.
In addition, the Theatre Green Book is hosting 'next steps' information, where suppliers can see a list of resources to help them progress further.

Via the website, a recent government report found that 67 percent of small and medium-sized enterprises reported reduced operational costs and 52 percent attracted new customers due to their sustainability efforts.
Alongside the Royal Ballet and Opera, the website and form were created by cultural sector organisations that have been trying to improve their supplier sustainability information.
These include the National Theatre, Royal Baths and Opera Europa.
