News
Tiqets Remarkable Venue Awards

Event will take place at TIS2021 in November, with entries closing 30 September

Tiqets, a leading booking partner for museums and attractions, is hosting the Remarkable Venue Awards, in partnership with the Tourism Innovation Summit (TIS). The event will celebrate the best museums and attractions around the world, and winners will be revealed at the TIS in Seville on 10 November 2021.

This free event combines both an in-person event and a live stream, allowing people to attend either in person or remotely. Applications for both The Best Hidden Gem and The Most Innovative Venue awards will close on 30 September.

Remarkable venues

The Remarkable Venue Awards have been hosted in six markets annually since 2017, and this is the first time that Tiqets has partnered with TIS to host the awards. In-person attendees at the 2021 Remarkable Venue Awards will receive a free 3-day Gold Pass, worth over €500, to TIS2021.

2021 has been a year of rebirth for the tourism industry,” says Luuc Elzinga, Tiqets President & Co-founder.” In the wake of the pandemic, museums and attractions have come up with new, exciting and – most importantly – safe ways to engage with visitors.

In partnership with TIS, we’re hosting our annual event to celebrate the end of a year of recovery and welcome the shift to a year of breaking records. It’s a privilege to celebrate all these venues have accomplished at the end of a long, but hopeful, year with the Remarkable Venue Awards ceremony.”

“After many months of struggles and difficulties for the tourism industry and its businesses, we have to take also time to recognize the ones that are leading and innovating nowadays,” says Silvia Avilés, Director of TIS2021.

This is why it is a pleasure for us to host Tiqets Remarkable Venue Awards to recognize museums and attractions that are disrupting and changing models in these unprecedented times. Once again, at TIS – Tourism Innovation Summit 2021, we will gather tourism leaders from all around the world to set the roadmap of the upcoming years and define the new ways of travel.

Celebrating leading attractions

Tiqets has now opened applications for two of the awards that will be announced at the event in Seville this November: Best Hidden Gem and Most Innovative Venue.

Most Innovative Venue will celebrate those attractions that are pushing the sector forward, be it through new marketing strategies, new technology, sustainability initiatives, or something else. Meanwhile, the Best Hidden Gem category will showcase unique attractions that are off the beaten path, offering a one-of-a-kind experience.

Winners will be chosen by a panel of expert judges in each participating region. There will be a winner for each award in each of the six markets (France, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, the UK, and the US). Applications close on 30 September 2021. Last month, Tiqets also announced the release of a free new ebook, entitled “5 Advanced Partner Marketing Strategies for Museums & Attractions,” in order to help operators increase their reach beyond their own marketing channels.
