Dubai Holding Entertainment has revealed plans for a new park at Dubai Parks and Resorts and a new roller coaster at Global Village.

In an interview with Gulf News, Dubai Holding Entertainment's CEO Fernando Eiroa said: "We will be adding new experiences and a new park in the near future, but I cannot disclose them until we are ready to talk to the public

"What we will be adding in the next months is very complementary and in high demand."

This year at Global Village, the company "will be adding a new roller coaster and multiple new attractions", Eiroa said.

Global Village will also introduce new shows, restaurants and country pavilions, he confirmed.

Dubai Parks & Resorts expansion

News of Global Village's new coaster comes after a report in Fortune found that the festival park boasts higher annual attendance that Disney's Magic Kingdom in Florida.

The addition of a new coaster could further strengthen the appeal of Global Village, which despite its high visitor numbers, does not appear on the Themed Entertainment Association's list of global attractions attendance.

Edward Shaw, principal of Entertainment + Culture Advisors, the consultancy firm behind the TEA data, said it has not considered Global Village "to be a theme park in the traditional sense, with a core of major attraction and rides behind a single ticketed gate, but more of a multi-cultural festival/fairground that also has pay-as-you-go rides".

"We continuously review our categories and the facilities that merit inclusion and will continue to do so for Global Village in the coming years," Shaw added.

As for the new experiences at Dubai Parks and Resorts, Eiroa said Dubai Holding Entertainment is planning "new shows at Motiongate and new attractions at Riverland".

These include Lamborghini driving simulators, a space-themed bowling alley with arcade games, and new restaurants.

“We listen closely to our customers and engage with them regularly, which allows us to respond quickly. We continue to introduce new concepts and experiences, offer season passes and bundle our attractions to give visitors something new every year," Eiroa said.

"That is how we stand out. We listen to both praise and criticism, understand what our customers want and continue to build on their feedback."
