The Spanish-based group listed on the Madrid stock exchange in 2016. Today, it boasts a portfolio 60 theme parks, water parks, marine parks and animal parks in 14 countries.
Acquisition has been key to the growth of the Parques Reunidos portfolio. Its most recent purchase, through its US subsidiary Palace Entertainment, was Iowa’s Adventureland. The park has been a family-run attraction since it opened in 1974. The company entered the Australian market in 2018 with the acquisition of Wet’n’Wild Sydney.
Eiroa took up the position of CEO for Parques Reunidos in early 2016. He has worked for the company since 2004, first as corporate director and then chief operating officer. Prior to returning to Europe, Eiroa served for eight years as president and CEO of Palace Entertainment.
