Evil Dead Burn, New Line Cinema’s latest film in the Evil Dead franchise, is heading to this year's Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando.
At both theme parks, guests will be able to experience a new haunted house based on the sixth film in the franchise, now in cinemas.
Per an official description of the house, guests will "dodge possessed Deadites hell-bent on bloodshed" after the Book of the Dead has been reopened.
Inspired by the franchise’s latest instalment, the haunted houses will take guests on a terrifying first-hand journey through the film’s most frightening moments, beginning at the Price family’s secluded holiday home in the woods.
The nightmare deepens as guests venture through the haunted house, encountering ferocious Deadites at every turn before succumbing to evil forces.
Alongside the new haunted house, attendees will be able to purchase limited-release merchandise inspired by Evil Dead Burn, including a T-shirt, hat and an acrylic figure.
First released in 1981, Evil Dead became a cult horror franchise known for blending graphic gore with dark humour. The films centre on the Book of the Dead, an ancient text that unleashes demonic forces that transform their victims into Deadites.
So far, Universal has announced several haunted houses coming to both Universal Orlando and Universal Studios Hollywood, including Evil Dead Burn.
Encounter ferocious Deadites around every turn
Most recently, Universal announced a new haunted house based on Clive Barker's 1987 film Hellraiser, featuring scenes and characters from the original film and the next two instalments in the original trilogy.
Before that, the company unveiled announced a haunted house based on the fifth and final season of Stranger Things, developed in partnership with Netflix.
Universal kicked off its haunted house announcements with Warner Bros. Pictures' award-winning film Sinners, following the supernatural horror movie's more than $370 million global box office success.
Universal Orlando's Halloween Horror Nights starts on 28 August, while Universal Studios Hollywood's event begins on 3 September.
