Immersive art company Meow Wolf is partnering with animation studio Titmouse on its upcoming Los Angeles location.

As part of the collaboration, Titmouse will produce and direct animation for Meow Wolf's LA exhibition, currently scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of this year.

The animation studio, which is behind animated TV series like Big Mouth, The Venture Bros., and Beavis and Butt-Head, will also consult on the LA venue's visual and narrative design.

James Stephenson, SVP and creative director of emerging media at Meow Wolf, said the LA experience will be "unlike any other – a truly new way to immerse yourself in our stories and worlds".

Additionally, the partnership between Meow Wolf and Titmouse will include the co-development of original animated series based on Meow Wolf's universe.

Titmouse and Meow Wolf will serve as executive producers, and Titmouse co-founder and CEO Chris Prynoski will oversee development on behalf of the studio.

"The first time I experienced Meow Wolf, my third eye popped open like a busted piñata. The color and texture and sound and chaos reverse-bled into my psychic veins," said Prynoski.

"Now we are teaming up to tell stories that burst from the page onto the screen and then into the real world. Together, we’re not just pushing the envelope of animation, we’re folding it into an origami spirit and riding it through the psychedelic multiverse."

Stephenson said: "Titmouse and Meow Wolf are born from the same place – artist-founded, artist-driven, fearless and independent.

"Both studios have always been interested in finding the outer edges of what a story can be, what an audience can experience, and what is creatively even possible."

Located at the Cinemark complex at Howard Hughes Los Angeles, Meow Wolf's LA exhibition will be its largest and most ambitious to date.
