Virtual reality experience is entertaining visitors at a shopping mall in Yokohama

DIVR Labs, a leading designer of virtual worlds and free-roam 4D VR arenas, has announced the launch of its newest VR arena at Yokohama World Porters, a popular shopping mall in Yokohama, Japan. With an innovative take on VR entertainment, the DIVR Immersive Arena combines upgraded 4D effects with thrilling original games in PC quality to provide a memorable experience.

“Our goal is to push the boundaries of location-based VR entertainment and deliver an incredibly immersive form of entertainment,” says Ondřej Bach, co-founder and executive producer at DIVR Labs. “We believe the Japanese market is primed to embrace this new wave of VR experiences, and our partnership with AEON Malls puts us in a fantastic position to showcase the future of entertainment.”

Engaging gameplay in a compact footprint

The DIVR Immersive Arena provides access to otherworldly environments. Meet the Dinosaurs transports the visitor back eighty million years to explore a prehistoric environment and walk amongst dinosaurs. The objective is to find traces of and reconstruct a legendary dinosaur species.

Meanwhile, “Last Stand” takes players to the forefront of a battle. They must defend against waves of relentless foes, collaborating with their teammates to triumph and demonstrate to the inhabitants of Earth that hope remains.

With its newest VR arena, DIVR Labs pushes the limits of entertainment by maximising efficiency and excitement. The innovative layout allows for 24 players every hour in a small 60-square-metre play area. In addition, to achieve the finest possible visual quality and immersion, the original games feature exhilarating 4D effects, such as haptics, vibration, wind, and heat, all driven by PC streaming technology.

With the DIVR Immersive Arena, everyone is catered to, with everything from thrilling shooters to family-friendly excursions for kids seven years old and older.

“Virtual reality holds incredible potential to change how we experience entertainment,” adds Bach. “We’re thrilled to see a strong response from the Japanese market and excited by the possibilities that our collaboration with AEON Malls opens up.”

DIVR Labs presented its free-roam Pop-up Arena at MAPIC last November. The company distinguishes itself in the market with its high throughput, PC-quality VR adventures, and innovative technologies. The company’s concept is tested and profit-generating, with inexpensive maintenance costs and a simple operating model.
