HOLOGATE, a global leader in turnkey compact multiplayer VR systems, has announced that it has seen 10 million players across its network of VR systems, in 36 countries around the world. This is a positive sign for the industry as a whole, showing that people are keen to visit entertainment venues once more.
“Along with most companies, we too faced our challenges over the past year and a half,” says Leif Petersen, CEO and founder of HOLOGATE. “Through the resilience of our entire team and our ability to continue to innovate, we found ourselves emerging from the storm.”
“In the summer of 2021, we saw peak numbers at 450,000 players per month. This number represents our all-time highest recorded number of player activity across the hundreds of our partner venues across 36 countries.”
Pioneers in VR
The company’s ARENA VR system was the first compact multiplayer VR system on the market and has contributed greatly to this milestone, which has been attained in just two and a half years, not counting the time during COVID.
“Much of our success has been attributed to being pioneers in the location-based virtual reality industry and our company-wide mission to create social play, escapes from reality, and creating powerful long-lasting memories of good times with friends and family and always exceeding guest expectations,” says Petersen.
HOLOGATE has also created HOLOGATE BLITZ, a fusion of VR, motion simulator and futuristic virtual craft, which allows players to explore virtual worlds. It has now built on the success of HOLOGATE ARENA and HOLOGATE BLITZ by introducing HOLOGATE WORLD, a cutting edge 1,200 square-metre immersive entertainment venue in Germany.
This features the company’s latest VR systems, as well as food and drink, futuristic mini-golf, technology-driven escape rooms and an esports area, alongside both indoor and outdoor social areas. It also includes HOLOGATE X, a next-gen free-roaming VR adventure platform.
HOLOGATE X, and HYPER GOLF, a fusion of miniature golf and digital arcade experience, will be available for global distribution later this year.
