HOLOGATE, a global leader in turnkey compact multiplayer VR systems, has announced that it has passed the milestone of 20 million VR experiences around the globe, confirming its status as the world’s biggest VR network.
Each year, HOLOGATE’s partner venues offer approximately 5 million VR experiences, bringing in a healthy revenue. With experiences costing, on average, $10, HOLOGATE systems generate a combined $50 million in revenue annually.HOLOGATE was founded in 2013 by Leif Petersen, and since then, the company has been motivated by a shared objective of enabling everyone to experience extended reality.
A key milestone
The ground-breaking multiplayer virtual reality system, HOLOGATE ARENA, is the heart of the HOLOGATE community. This system is the most successful turnkey multiplayer VR system in the world. Following the ARENA’s success, HOLOGATE BLITZ—a motion simulator platform intended for racing, flying, and underwater virtual reality experiences—was introduced.
The company later introduced the HOLOGATE TOWER, enabling futuristic VR laser tag battles, and HOLOGATE HYPER GOLF, bringing together high-tech mini-golf, digital arcade and social gaming experiences.
Leif Petersen, HOLOGATE CEO and founder, says: “This achievement underscores our commitment to pushing the boundaries of virtual reality and crafting unforgettable adventures. However, it’s more than just our accomplishment; it’s a shared success that reaches far beyond us—to our dedicated owners, operators, partners, and the entire HOLOGATE family. It stands as a testament to our collective resilience, as together we weathered the storm of the past few years and emerged stronger than ever.”
Brent Bushnell, CEO of Two Bit Circus, says: “HOLOGATE is one of our top VR attractions. It’s reliable, operator friendly, always busy, and people love the experience. It’s worked so well for us we got a second one!”
Stefan Bryxi and Valeria Torchiaro-Steinmeier, co-managing directors at Bavaria Filmstadt, say: “Most of our visitors are completely new to VR, but their natural curiosity drives them to explore. Our partnership with HOLOGATE introduces our guests to an exciting dimension of entertainment that is both immersive and exhilarating. We are thrilled to provide such an exceptional and unforgettable adventure to our visitors.”
A constantly growing collection of exclusive games serves as the foundation for the popularity of HOLOGATE’s immersive experiences, including blockbuster IPs like Ghostbusters and Angry Birds and adventure catering to kids and adults, first-timers and veterans alike.
Earlier this year, HOLOGATE announced that its immersive experience, Ghostbusters VR Academy had become available to enjoy across the world with the biggest out-of-home VR network. The title was developed by HOLOGATE, and published by Sony Pictures Virtual Reality (SPVR).
