Intercard, the cashless payment provider, will be debuting its new product, iReader Impluse, at IAAPA Expo 2019 in Orlando.
Intercard is proud to be launching its innovative new product at IAAPA Expo 2019, which takes place from 18 – 22 November in Orlando, Florida. In an industry first, iReader Impulse is a hybrid card reader that accepts credit cards as well as stored-value play cards. This will allow operators to accept credit cards as an additional method of payment for gameplay.
The company has been testing the new product in situ at arcades and has found that it can increase overall game revenue by up to 20%. iReader Impulse is designed to help operators target ‘impulse’ players, who may only want to play a few quick games on the spur of the moment without signing up for a game card and adding credit to their account.
Cashless solutions
While this type of player has traditionally paid by cash, many people no longer carry coins with them, instead preferring to pay via cashless technology. Thanks to Intercard’s new product, impulse players can game easily, without downloading any apps or setting up a mobile wallet.
This is a product that both operators and customers have been wanting, however many manufacturers have been hesitant due to the strict security regulations set by the financial industry. However, Intercard set up a team of over six software engineers to tackle the problem and come up with a solution.
“We think the ability to use credit cards right at the reader will revolutionize our industry, allowing proprietors to capture a larger share of impulse play,” says Scott Sherrod, CEO of Intercard. “The iReader Impulse is a huge leap forward in-game payment because it gives impulse players a quick and easy way to pay while giving proprietors all the benefits of cashless technology.”
Sherrod will be at IAAPA Expo 2019, along with the whole domestic and international sales team, at booth #2206. Attendees will be able to speak to the company’s technical experts and demo the new product. Demos can be booked ahead of time by emailing Bill Allen or Alberto Borrero.
Earlier this year, Intercard installed its cashless management technology at Replay Arcades in Mexicali, Mexico, a popular family entertainment centre.
