Innovation provides more freedom & cuts costs

QubicaAMF, a leading provider of high-quality, innovative products for bowling and entertainment centres, has announced its next-generation free-fall pinspotter, EDGE Free-Fall. The company’s latest innovation is a follow-up to its esteemed XLi EDGE system.

Jim Krogsund, the company’s performance equipment product manager, comments: “QubicaAMF pinspotting machines have long been the industry’s preferred choice because of their performance, economics, and longevity.

“EDGE Free-Fall takes this legacy to a whole new level through unique design and technological innovations. The result is a pinspotter delivering an unmatched free-fall bowling experience, unrivalled operational efficiency, and peace of mind.”

EDGE Free-Fall has a number of key features including XLi software-driven technology that simplifies operation and eradicates mechanical complexity, cloud-based monitoring that provides performance and intervention data, transparent guarding and Tech Wizard, QubicaAMF’s expert system application designed for smartphones.

These capabilities ensure managers have access to reliable insights that optimise staff utilisation, as well as a system that is up to date. QubicaAMF also says that its EDGE Free-Fall product is the only pinspotter designed and assembled in the US.

Reducing costs

EDGE Free-Fall also uses the latest technology to reduce leisure venues’ operating expenses over the long term, and expenditure on parts.

One way the system does this is through SmartCycle, which uses scoring camera technology to stop unnecessary cycling, and wear and tear. QubiaAMF’s Run-On-Demand Intelligence ensures that motors and mechanical systems only operate when balls are thrown, accompanied by the Durabin Pin Storage System which helps reduce pin wear.

Energy-efficient gearmotor drive systems also contribute towards reducing electricity spending and aiding FECs toward being more sustainable.

Designed to make operations easier, EDGE Free-Fall can be easily managed by experienced technicians and those new to the bowling arena. The pinspotter is easy to operate and service, giving owners more flexibility with finding appropriate staff.

Director of performance equipment, Neil Pennington, says: “With the staffing and operational challenges and competitive landscape many centres face today, options for pinspotting equipment that are easier and less costly to operate are desperately needed.  We were inspired to create EDGE Free-Fall to give centres looking to deliver a free-fall bowling experience a better option.”

QubicaAMF recently announced it is an official sponsor of the British Tenpin Bowling Association’s Junior and Adult teams as part of a partnership that will last two years.
