Singapore's Mandai Wildlife Reserve has opened its new wildlife park, Rainforest Wild Adventure – the final milestone in a 10-year transformation of the 126-hectare site.
With the launch of Rainforest Wild Adventure, the Mandai Wildlife Reserve now includes five wildlife parks, two nature-themed attractions, and public green spaces.
"When the early parks first opened in the 1970s, they were founded on the simple idea of helping people connect with wildlife and nature," said Bennett Neo, group CEO of Mandai Wildlife Group.
"That remains at the core of what we do today. What has changed is the scale of what we can offer, from visitor experiences to conservation and education programmes."
Rainforest Wild Adventure was opened in two phases. The first is known as Rainforest Wild Adventure West, formerly Rainforest Wild Asia, and debuted last year.
The second phase, which opened on 29 May, is called Rainforest Wild Adventure East.

Spanning seven hectares, this is inspired by Afro-tropical and Madagascan landscapes, and provides wildlife encounters and adventure activities.
For example, a treetop ropes course puts visitors among the forest canopy as okapi move through the undergrowth below, and a primate climb offers a bird's-eye view of Diana monkeys.
Highlights also include guided high-element experiences, like ascending a karst rock face and a simulated cave expedition.
As well as okapi and Diana monkeys, guests may also encounter species such as pygmy hippo, eastern bongo, red river hog and Nile lechwe.

Additionally, a multi-species habitat is home to lemurs, turacos, and ibises.
In total, Rainforest Wild Adventure is spread across 20 hectares of naturalistic habitats inspired by the rainforests of Asia and Africa.
It joins the Singapore Zoo, Night Safari, River Wonders and Bird Paradise at Mandai Wildlife Reserve.
