Mall of America‘s Nickelodeon Universe theme park has announced two new attractions inspired by Dora the Explorer and Avatar: The Last Airbender.
The new rides will be themed to Boots from Dora the Explorer and Appa from Avatar: The Last Airbender. Construction will start this fall, with the former to open this Christmas and the latter during spring break next year.
Per a press release, Boots’ Banana Swing will let guests “monkey around” as they swing along with Boots through the rainforest treetops.
Guests will ride their own “loyal and loving” sky bison on Fly with Appa, enjoying aerial views as they travel up and down.

“Nickelodeon Universe is a place for fans to let their imagination run wild by seeing their favorite characters come to life, while enjoying thrilling and playful rides,” said Jill Renslow, chief business development and marketing officer at Mall of America.
“The addition of Boots’ Banana Swing and Fly with Appa are sure to provide a new element of excitement and special family memories for years to come. Whether you’re young or young at heart, we can’t wait for everyone to experience our newest attractions.”
Opened in 2008, Nickelodeon Universe is a seven-acre theme park with nearly 30 rides and attractions based on Nickelodeon franchises such as SpongeBob SquarePants, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Paw Patrol.
