Pasch told blooloop President Obama wanted visitors to focus on the people behind social and political change, not only on his own story: “That is really a thread that is woven throughout the museum.”
She added: "The story of the presidency actually begins with the stories of people on whose shoulders Barack Obama stood and who participated in progressive movements of the 19th and 20th centuries.
"The president wanted the story to start that way to ground people in the idea that this is about people over time who worked and continue to work to create change and to push for a more inclusive society.”
