Six Flags St. Louis is reinstating its chaperone policy after fights involving up to 100 people, mostly teenagers, broke out at the park on its 2026 opening day on Saturday (25 April).

The property, now owned by Enchanted Parks, has updated its website to include the new chaperone policy, which comes into force on 2 May.

"We are committed to keeping the park a place where families and friends come together to enjoy safe, one-of-a-kind experiences and immersive entertainment in a positive atmosphere," says the Six Flags St. Louis website.

Therefore, all guests aged 16 or younger will need to be accompanied by a chaperone who is at least 21 years old to be admitted to or remain in the park.

The policy will be in effect daily during all operating hours, and the chaperone will have to present a valid government-issued photo ID showing a date of birth at entry.

Additionally, one chaperone can accompany no more than six guests aged 16 or younger per day.

Any guests aged 16 or younger who are found inside the theme park unaccompanied by a chaperone will be "subject to ejection", the website says.

Visitors aged 17 and older will need to present a valid government-issued photo ID showing their date of birth at entry, or they may not be admitted.

Brawl at Six Flags St. Louis

As for the brawl over the weekend, a spokesperson for Six Flags St. Louis told Entertainment Weekly: "We had a situation occur outside the park gates, with a group of teens, at closing on Saturday.

"Our officers on property, who were already monitoring the group, were able to respond immediately, request assistance from other agencies, and get the situation under control fairly quickly."

The spokesperson said Six Flags has "zero tolerance for this type of behavior".
