Barco, the technology company focusing on innovative visualization solutions, has announced the new generation of its successful Barco UniSee LCD video wall platform. The updated Barco UniSee 500 has been designed to further optimise applications in a wide range of environments, from control rooms and meeting rooms to corporate lobbies, TV studios and more.
The company has also worked to make this updated version easier to deploy and service than ever before, in line with its sustainability charter.
Building on an award-winning design
Barco’s award-winning UniSee LCD video wall platform features the smallest optical seam available, to nearly eliminate the ‘grids’ that often interrupt content on traditional LCD walls, while also providing high-quality images, precise installation, easy servicing and reliability.
Now, the updated Barco UniSee 500 does all this at a reduced brightness level and cost, answering the market demand. In addition, this new generation features optimized Sense X algorithms to further improve both intra-tile and overall inter-tile uniformity.
It also boasts improved colour performance under wider viewing angles, ideal for places where a frontal viewing is not the norm. This means a good viewing experience for all in the room, for example in meeting rooms, lobbies and TV studios. Plus, it has built-in support for the latest encrypted 4K streaming control.
The new generation Barco UniSee 500 is more channel-friendly than its predecessor. Thanks to the easy deployment and serviceability, it is easy for operators to get their video wall up and running, and keep it running into the future. With the Video Wall Management Suite, which is free of charge during the warranty period, users can monitor and manage the complete installed base of video walls from one central place.
Sustainability
This latest innovation has also obtained the Barco Eco Product Label, following the company’s ISO14021 compliant eco-scoring methodology, which takes into account all aspects from energy consumption to use of materials, packing, logistics and end-of-life management.
“The Barco UniSee range brings exquisite value to any environment, and the next generation Barco UniSee 500 further builds on this success story,” says Gerrit Vermeire, Director Product Management at Barco.
“It offers all well-known benefits of the platform, including the innovative UniSee Mount for easy alignment, the bezel-less viewing experience and automatic colour and brightness calibration system, but adds a set of additional benefits to the package.
“What’s more, the existing eco-system of peripheral products built around Barco UniSee, remains fully compatible with the new generation Barco UniSee 500. This includes curved mounting structures, touch overlays, trim solutions, and more.”
The next generation Barco UniSee 500 will start shipping from April 2021.
At the end of last year, Barco also announced that it had provided projection solutions to the Memory Lane Museum Complex in Russia for an immersive WWII experience.
