Highlite, a leading supplier of show, audio and light equipment, recently delivered key machinery to aid a leading Dutch theme park in creating an enchanted winter wonderland for the end of its 2022 season.
With the park wanting to open its doors outside the typical theme park season for a new festive experience, Toverland turned to Antari snow machines supplied by Highlite International BV to transform an open plaza space into a winter wonderland.
Toverland, found in Sevenum, The Netherlands, completely transformed its Port Laguna entrance area, which is typically tropical in style, into a winter-themed environment for its immersive Winter Feelings event concept from 26 November 2022 to 15 January 2023.
A touch of festive magic
To help create a unique ambience, the park purchased 14 Antari S-500 L Snow Machines from Highlite, which are commonly used by theme and amusement parks as a professional, silent, snow distribution solution that distributes showers for medium to large venues. Users can adjust the air volume and fluid flow rate to create desired snow effects including fine snow and blizzards.
The machines accompanied a selection of winter-themed attractions at the park including a sizable ice skating rink set up around a 10-meter-tall Christmas tree, providing traditional fun for families of all ages. The 14 snow machines were dispersed around the newly rebranded Winter Laguna region, contributing significantly to the magic of the area, rain or shine.
Winter Laguna also featured a curling rink where teams of up to eight people could compete in a casual match of the popular alpine sport, alongside a five-metre high tubing hill for adults and children. The scene was completed by food and beverage stands adorned with festive theming and decorations.
A Highlite company representative said: “Toverland’s Winter Feelings concept relied heavily on an immersive winter experience, and thanks to the 14 Antari S-500 L Snow Machines, visitors to the Winter Laguna were sure to enjoy a captivating atmosphere regardless of the weather and lack of natural snow.”
Highlite also helped to draw crowds to two haunted houses last year at Bellewaerde Park, for a Halloween event set up by Production Pirates.
