Intamin, a creator of record-breaking amusement rides, has unveiled its latest media-based attraction design. Offering unique sensations in a flying theatre-type ride, the Motion Tower concept offers guests an immersive experience with an uninterrupted view of the screen.
Able to accommodate up to 90 passengers each cycle, the system’s gondola can move in three degrees of freedom (3DOF) and can be specifically programmed to synchronise with different media content.
Dynamic experience
The gondola’s pitch and roll movements can achieve up to 15°, at a speed of up to 15° per second, whereas the vertical heave/drop movements with 19 metres of vertical stroke can reach speeds of up to 5 metres per second and achieve plus or minus 0.5G.
The ride’s vehicle tracking audio system ensures a premium acoustic experience for guests by directing sound to the exact position of the gondola at any given time.
“All these characteristics allow for a highly dynamic ride experience with unique ride movements – the next level of immersive experiences for your guests,” says Intamin.
Imagination’s the limit
Ergonomically-shaped seats with individual over-the-shoulder lap bars deliver an ideal compromise between guest comfort and safety. In addition, seats can be equipped with special effects such as wind, scent and vibration to deliver immersive storytelling.
“Intamin is proud to introduce a state-of-the-art screen-based ride that offers guests never-before-experienced sensations in a flying theatre type ride,” continues the company.
“This attraction is ideal for flyovers, travels to other dimensions, underwater or space – your imagination is the limit! It is an exclusive attraction engineered for locations looking to differentiate themselves from the competition, as part of an already existing entertainment concept or a standalone attraction.”
