Intamin, a creator of record-breaking amusement rides, worked on a new family attraction that has recently opened at Familypark, in the province of Burgenland, Austria.
Translating as Beaver Castle, Biberburg is the park’s latest ride and transports park guests on a four-minute-long, adventure suitable for the whole family.
Built on a former petting zoo site, the intricately themed water ride covers an area of approximately 5,000 square meters.
After boarding tree trunk-themed passenger boats, up to eight riders at a time leave the station quickly followed by a short drop, leading outside.
A slow-paced floating section takes guests past themed scenery, before arriving at a dead-end with a fast-moving platform, from which the boat changes direction.
Reaching new heights
Dropping back into the next floating section, riders progress to the attraction’s highlight, a seventeen-metre-tall vertical lift, which provides breathtaking views of the park.
From the top of the feature, the boat transitions forwards again, before being sent down at a top speed of approximately 65 kilometres per hour. The highest flume drop in the country is quickly followed by a camel back hump, resulting in an impressive splash for guests.
The 325-metre-long ride officially opened to guests on 9 July 2022 and uses the firm’s latest state-of-the-art vehicle technologies. “Intamin congratulates Familypark on their new attraction and expresses its gratitude for the cooperation,” says the ride manufacturer.
Earlier this year, Intamin created the world’s fastest multi-LSM Launch roller coaster for Busch Gardens Williamsburg, with a top speed of 117 kilometres per hour and a white-knuckle 95° vertical drop.
Other coasters opening in recent months include All Speeds at Sunac Land Chengdu, China; Lights of Revenge at Happy Valley, Nanjing, also China; and Big Dipper at Luna Park, Sydney, Australia.
