Upgrades fuel competition between guests enjoying the gaming site‘s attractions

Semnox Solutions, a provider of technology for the entertainment and amusement industry, has upgraded systems at a new FEC in Mississauga, Canada.

Semnox and Kilburn Live have developed the “Parafait-Game Hub integration” which allows various games and experiences to be activated through RFID wristbands and the Parafait Gamification API framework.

Kilburn Live’s new Ontario venue, GYGO! (Get Your Game On) features a variety of active play experiences in an indoor active play zone.

Using Game Hub, Kilburn’s propriety scoring backbone, challenges are scored and calculated on a site-wide leaderboard, encouraging visitors to compete on daily, monthly, and all-time scoreboards.

Popular sports such as basketball, baseball and football are included as challenges, along with a ninja-style obstacle course, and foam blaster play activities.

Kilburn Live, LLC CCO Jonathan Sanford says: “The importance of the underlying technology that powers our experiences cannot be understated. The complexity must be invisible to the guest and yet be designed with future technologies and enhancements in mind. Semnox’s Parafait system is both of those things and is so feature-rich, that it became the obvious choice for integration with Game Hub and GYGO!”

Technology upgrades

The FEC can activate gameplay and pass score using Semnox’s Parafait Game Hub integration, synchronizing leaderboards on site. GYGO! also utilises other Semnox solutions such as the firm’s online ticketing and POS system, party bookings, waivers and RFID activations.

Semnox president Bepin Jose adds: “Kilburn is well known for building interactive experiences that are entertaining, innovative and cutting edge. It is an honour for Semnox to partner with them to integrate our technology into these experiences.

“Through the GYGO! project, the foundational gaming framework has been established between the Parafait and Game-Hub systems and we look forward to leveraging the numerous expansion possibilities that are ahead of us in this partnership.”

Last month, Semnox announced it has been working with Indian amusement park Fun Kingdom, which now benefits from Semnox’s Tixera Park Solution.
