Scare City first launched as a drive-through Halloween attraction called Camelot Rises.

Camelot theme park in Lancashire is reopening for Halloween as Scare City, described by creators Park N Party as the world’s longest outdoor horror attraction.

Scare City, a worrisome walk-through experience, first launched as a drive-through Halloween attraction called Camelot Rises. The theme park in Charnock Richard closed in 2012.

Park N Party says the new attraction is “bigger, better, and bloodier than ever”, with visitors embarking on a terrifying trip through “countless zones of pure, unadulterated terror”.

According to the website, guests will walk through “a living nightmare”. Zones include ‘Blood-curdling Camelot Castle’, ‘The Resurrection Zone’, ‘The Whirlwind Woods’, ‘The Forest of Fears’, and ‘Satanic Panic’.

Additional areas include ‘The Crypt of Camelot’, ‘Extreme Scream Go’, ‘Medieval Murder Zone’, ‘Knightmare Alley’, ‘Scare Village’, ‘Share if You Dare’ and ‘Carni Valley’.

World’s longest outdoor horror attraction

“Set to the backdrop of the mythical castle, amongst the ruins of a fairground from the past, there’s no better place to have your nerves shredded and your mind melted,” says Park N Party.

Elsewhere, an official Saw experience is launching in London in time for Halloween. The attraction brings to life the Jigsaw killer – and it wants to play a game.

Oren Koules and Mark BurgSaw producers and founders of Twisted Pictures, said fans “can be a part of the story and uncover what Jigsaw’s twisted games have in store for them”.

An It-themed escape room experience is also opening later this year in Las Vegas, following an escape experience inspired by the Blair Witch film franchise

Scare City at Camelot is a two-hour immersive experience featuring live actors. The event runs from 30 September through 31 October.
