Disney parks chairman Josh D’Amaro has spoken about a planned land at Florida’s Animal Kingdom with attractions inspired by Indiana Jones.
In September, it was revealed that Walt Disney Imagineering is working to transform Dinoland U.S.A. at the park into a new land with Indiana Jones experiences.
Now, speaking to Entertainment Weekly, D’Amaro has revealed: “Animal Kingdom is about exploration and adventure.

“I was fortunate enough to have run that theme park, so I know how special it is, and I think there are a lot of stories that we can stay true to Animal Kingdom and express new properties in there, and that’s what you see us starting to do.”
He told EW: “We’ve got so many stories to tell, we have so many things we want to make even better in the theme parks.
“We know what this business is capable of, we know what our fans expect of us, and we’re going all in.”
As above, the Indiana Jones additions at Animal Kingdom were first teased at this year’s Destination D23 event in September. The park’s current Dinosaur ride, which opened in 1998, already uses a similar ride system to the Indiana Jones Adventure attraction at Disneyland in California.
New land to replace Dinoland U.S.A.
“Over the next decade, we’re going to have more projects underway than at any point in our history. Our sole purpose is to give you more and more of what you love about a Disney experience. And then surprise and delight you with things you never dreamed possible,” D’Amaro said at D23.
“We are planning to invest billions of dollars in our destinations around the world,” he added.
Disney later revealed plans to invest $60 billion in its parks, experiences and products division over the next 10 years to turbocharge growth.
